Aggregate Power Purchasing
Apollo delivers value to our clients through our service called Aggregate Power Purchasing. Electric load aggregation is the process by which individual energy users come together to obtain more favorable energy rates than they would independently. Apollo aids our clients in forming aggregate power groups, or Aggregate Power Pools, and negotiating on behalf of the group. In an Apollo Aggregate Power Pool, each client is contract individually with the energy supplier yet benefits from the group's total leverage.
Leveraged Buying Power
Clients participating in Apollo Aggregate Power Pools benefit from increased buying power due to the size-able electric loads of each group. Typically when purchasing wholesale power, electric suppliers are required to purchase large blocks of energy. Since individual energy users do not typically use the same amount of power as a wholesale block, energy suppliers are forced to add significant margin to the price of the power to cover their costs. Apollo Aggregate Power Pools allow electric suppliers to efficiently resell blocks power slightly above wholesale costs.
Improved Load Factor
Load Factor is the ratio of energy consumption to peak energy demand, and is a significant factor in determining rates for energy users. The higher the Load Factor Rating, the more competitive the electric rate. Clients participating in Apollo Aggregate Power Pools benefit from the increased Load Factor Rating of the group. Since each member's usage patterns are different, Apollo is able to match certain patterns with others to balance out the load and increase the overall Load Factor Rating of the group.
Many commercial energy users opt for a fixed-rate electric product that includes all ancillary costs associated with supplying the power. Although this allows users to effectively control their energy costs, they pay a premium for asking energy suppliers to assume all risks associated with supplying power at a fixed rate to a vaguely identified load. Clients partcipating in Apollo Aggregate Power Pools benefit from a portfolio of energy products tailored to the group's specific load. These supply products are typically traded at very high volumes that far exceed individual energy user demand.
